Installation and Maintenance

The most basic steps for installation, which are found in the Owner’s Manual, require you to position the refrigerator on a dry and even surface, and in an environment that isn’t too hot or too cold. The refrigerator shouldn’t come in direct contact with sunlight, nor be placed close to the wall to allow proper air circulation. It should, however, be placed close to a water line. In case the fridge doesn’t fit through the door that leads to where you want to put it, you can remove the fridge door to ensure you don’t bang it against anything.

For the water line, although you can install it on your own, it is recommended to have a plumber or a trained individual to get this task done, as incorrect management of the water line can cause leaking or flooding, and no one wants that. Remember to only have the automatic ice maker on when there is a water supply installed.

Once that is all done, you’ll have to wait about 4 hours for the gas to settle. In that time frame, you can remove all the adhesive tape on the inside of the fridge and let the doors open so it gets ventilated. After that, you can plug it in and wait two to three hours for it to get cool enough to keep the food chilly and safe.

Before cleaning, remember to unplug the fridge for your safety and rinse and dry all surfaces to avoid odors. You can use a vacuum cleaner with a brush or crevice attachment to clean the condenser cover and vents. You should replace the water filter every six months, give or take, so the ice cubes come out nice and clean.

As for the control panel, it’s presented in a simple, yet functional way. It has a display for both the freezer and refrigerator temperature, which can be changed by pressing the respective buttons and cycling through the settings. By default, the freezer is set to 0°F and the refrigerator to 37°F. The remaining two buttons correspond to the Water Filter Replace function, which can be pressed and held for three seconds in order to reset the Filter, and the Ice Plus function, which increases ice making and freezing capabilities for 24 hours and it shuts down automatically.

Ice Maker and Defrost Type

This unit comes with a factory installed ice maker on the top bin of the freezer. It can hold up to 1.2 lbs. of ice cubes. Remember this can only work if you have the water supply installed.

And for the defrost type, it is completely automatic. The fridge will regulate the temperature on its own so frost doesn’t build up. Do note that it might make some noises like buzzing or rumbling while it defrosts, so unless the noises linger after defrosting or the functioning of the fridge falters, everything will be okay.
